Why do girls wear flats? (those ballet? shoes)?

well haha my friend came over and she was wearing flats and i asked her why and she said they are comfortable, but they really dont look comfortable...at all. i mean they are like plastic and weird haha. i mean she looks good in them but still id rather see a chick in a nice pair of $150 nikes!
