Is it safe to sit with my 90 year old Mother in the Hospital?

My Mother is 90 and went into the Hospital with EXTREMELY high white blood cell count. We need to have a family member with her at all times because she has some Dementia. I caught laryngitis and threw up yesterday. My Husband had the same thing for two weeks w/out throwing up. I'm not vomiting now and have no fever, but maybe a cold. My question is...can I safely sit with my Mother in the Hospital without HER catching what I have, if I take a shower, put on fresh clothes, wash my hands repeatedly, and wear a mask?? I need to see her and bring her some Ensure drinks. If it's not safe now, then when? Thank you.
